a new leaf

Turning over a new leaf refers to a fresh start or a new beginning so that a new path forward can emerge. A change is always coming, as all things are fluid and in constant motion. Nothing can remain the same or stagnant forever. Change is good, that is how we grow. Do not let your feet get stuck or planted in place and forget to keep taking steps forward. It’s not always easy on the journey of grief to feel like change is a good thing. As things change, we must learn to adapt and grow and evolve to new levels of awareness and consciousness. It’s easy to feel like nothing is happening when you are going through some big life challenges. But there is always something developing, even on a subconscious level. As seasons change and our life evolves, remember our grief is always changing as well. Whether trees are turning beautiful colors in the fall foliage of autumn or they are budding new leaves in the early days of spring, it is a reminder that our grief comes and goes in seasons of change as well. I know for many, autumn is a season of loss as darkening months approach and the holidays are not far away. Try to take a moment to sit with your grief to feel all your feelings and then try to truly enjoy the nature around you. Remember like all things this too shall pass and turning over new leaves will bring an emergence of new beginnings.
