out of time

“We’re out of time”, the chilling last words of the 20 year old co-pilot of the deadly small plane crash that recently occurred in Florida really struck me. The truth is, none of us are guaranteed more time to do all the things we plan for. In a blink of an eye, no more tomorrows, no more birthdays, no more holidays spent with family, no more memories to make or conversations to finish. Maybe it’s because I’ve experienced the kind of devastating loss that makes you wish you could have just five more minutes with someone you love, for one more hug or to say goodbye. But as life moves along, I’ve truly realized just how precious time really is. Sadly so many of us squander it, waiting for just the right time, waiting till we have enough money, waiting until things settle down, and putting off conversations, adventures, travels, and sometimes even forgiveness. And all the while we assume there’s always going to be another day. Truth is, time is the one thing none of us are promised. So, take the trip, make the phone call, take a chance, tell your loved ones you love them every single day, because you never know when your last day will be. We all have limited time to accomplish our dreams and goals for this lifetime. Remember to always use your time given here wisely, so that there are no regrets when your time here is truly out of time.
